Pemanasan Global – Apa yang Anda ketahui tentang pemanasan global? Tahukan Anda jika para ilmuwan kini tengah cemas mengamati pola cuaca di kutub utara. Wilayah Siberia diketahui suhu kota Verkhoyansk, salah satu kota di Siberia terdeteksi di angka 38 derajat celcius pada Sabtu (20/6/2020).
Suhu ini menjadi suhu tertinggi sepanjang masa dalam sejarah suhu sepanjang daerah Artik.
Verkhoyansk adalah kota yang memiliki rentang suhu paling ekstrim di bumi, di mana titik terbawah musim dingin mencapai rata-rata -49 derajat celcius.
Sementara itu saat memiliki suhu tertinggi musim panas sebelumnya hanya bertengger di angka 37,2 derajat celcius. Terbayangkan jika daerah sekitar kutub bisa sepanas itu, apa kabar tempat kita yang nun jauh dari sana?

A. Pengertian Pemanasan Global (Global Warming)
Apa itu Pemanasan global ? Jangan-jangan taunya cuma “Pemanasan Gombal?” Duh, gawat kalau iya! Pemanasan global (global warming) adalah suatu bentuk ketidakseimbangan ekosistem di bumi akibat terjadinya proses peningkatan suhu rata-rata atmosfer, laut, dan daratan di bumi.
Global warming merupakan suatu proses yang ditandai dengan naiknya suhu atmosfer , laut, dan daratan. Sekedar info , Suhu rata-rata global pada permukaan Bumi telah melonjak 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) dalam seratus tahun terakhir. Jadi,fix bumi kita sudah makin memanas.
B. Penyebab Pemanasan Global
Apa sebenarnya yang menyebabkan bumi ini semakin panas? Mengapa bumi bisa mengalami kenaikan suhu? Nah,Ini dia penyebabnya
1. Efek Rumah kaca
Karbon dioksida atau cO2 yang dihasilkan oleh kegiatan di bumi ini seperti pernafasan dan hasil pembakaran bahan bakar menyelubungi bumi. Karena kadarnya sudah berlebihan maka CO2 seolah seperti kaca yang menutup permukaan bumi.
Selain karbon dioksida juga sulfur dioksida dan metana pun sama seperti CO2 menyelubungi bumi. Layaknya sifat kaca, gas-gas yang melapisi tadi akan memantulkan infrared dari matahari yang seharusnya dikembalikan lagi ke angkasa. Infrared terperangkap di bumi. Emang kenapa kalau infrared wara-wiri di bumi ini?
Begini ya, Sinar inframerah memiliki panjang gelombang antara 760 nm sampai 1000 µm dan frekuensi 30 GHz sampai 40.000 GHz. Tahu tidak?, benda panas akibat getaran atomik dan molekuler dianggap memancarkan gelombang panas dalam bentuk sinar inframerah. Makanya, sinar inframerah sering disebut dengan radiasi panas.
Sebenarnya efek rumah kaca itu ada gunanya untuk bumi kita dalam hal memberi panas. Jika tak ada efek rumah kaca maka bumi ini akan diselimuti oleh dingin. Kebayang dong kalau bumi ini dingin? Dengan suhu rata-rata sebesar 15 °C (59 °F), bumi sebenarnya lebih panas 33 °C (59 °F) dari suhunya sebelumnya.
Andaikan tidak ada efek rumah kaca suhu bumi hanya -18 °C sehingga es akan menutupi seluruh permukaan Bumi. Karena efek inilah ,bumi menghangat, namun jika kadar berlebihan maka akibatnya terjadilah yang dinamakan pemanasan global.

2. Efek Umpan Balik
Selain efek rumah kaca, efek umpan balik juga memberi pengaruh pada pemanasan global. Duh umpan balik berasa nonton bola. Umpan balik disini contohnya adalah penguapan air.
Proses pemanasan selain menghasilkan karbondioksida juga menghasilkan uap air. Contoh ya reaksi pembakaran hidrokarbon seperti berikut ini: CxHy + O2 → CO2 + H2O
Nah tuh ada H2O alias air dihasilkan. Semakin banyak pemanasan yang terjadi akibat efek rumah kaca karbon dioksida semakin melimpah uap air yang membumbung ke atmosfer. Uap air sendiri ternyata memberi efek rumah kaca, seperti gas CO2.
Pemanasan yang terus terjadi itu menambah jumlah uap air secara terus menerus hingga akhirnya tercapai kesetimbangan konsentrasi uap air. Efek rumah kaca dari penguapan air disinyalir lebih besar dari efek rumah kaca gas CO2 yang menghasilkannya. Aneh ya kan kalau banyak air rasanya lembab?
Ya memang kelembaban meningkat, namun meskipun kelembaban meningkat karena kandungan air banyak, kelembaban relatif udara malah nyaris konstan bahkan berkurang karena udara malah menghangat. Lamanya umpan balik perlahan mengingat CO2 di atmosfer betah dan berumur panjang.
Umpan balik yang kedua disebabkan penguapan awan. Jika dilihat dari bawah, memang awan terlihat memantulkan lagi radiasi ke permukaan, akibatnya akan terjadi peningkatan efek pemanasan.
Namun lain lagi jika kita mengintipnya dari atas. Dari atas awan terlihat memantulkan lagi radiasi infra merah kembali ke angkasa sehingga menurunkan panas dan ada efek pendinginan. Jadi ingat lagu Ariel Noah ” Sempat kumelihat di balik awan, aku melihat di balik hujan!”
Waw ini lagu pas sekali untuk umpan balik efek penguapan awan dan air, jangan-jangan Ariel membuat lagu setelah belajar penyebab pemanasan global Kita lanjutkan ya obrolan seriusnya, nah apakah yang akan dihasilkan penguapan awan itu berupa pemanasan atau pendinginan, itu tergantung pada beberapa hal seperti tipe dan ketinggian awan tersebut.
Umpan balik selanjutnya adalah sirnanya kemampuan es dalam memantulkan cahaya. Ketika terjadi pemanasan global tentu es di daerah kutub mencair. Ironisnya makin lama pencairannya makin cepat. Ketika es mencair, daratan atau air dibawahnya akan jadi terbuka.
Jika ketika ditutupi es, eslah yang memantulkan cahaya, namun ketika daratan atau perairan sudah terbuka, maka baik daratan atau daratan ternyata hanya mampu memantulkan cahaya lebih sedikit dari es. Kedua bagian itu malah lebih cenderung menyerap panas dari matahari, akibatnya pemanasan meningkat dan espun cair dan cair lagi.
Umpan balik tak selalu negatif. Ada juga positifnya, Umpan balik positif muncul karena terlepasnya CO2 dan CH4 atau gas metana dari melunaknya tanah beku (permafrost).
Proses ini adalah mekanisme lainnya yang juga memberikan pengaruh terhadap pemanasan. Selain itu, es yang meleleh juga akan melepas CH4 yang ternyata menimbulkan umpan balik positif.
Kemampuan lautan untuk menyerap karbon kurang maksimal jika suhunya naik, mengapa? Hal ini disebabkan oleh berkurangnya tingkat nutrien pada zona mesopelagic sehingga pertumbuhan diatom terbatas dibanding fitoplankton yang merupakan penyerap karbon yang rendah.
3. Variasi matahari
Kenalan dulu yuk sama variasi matahari, variasi matahari adalah perubahan jumlah energi radiasi yang dilepaskan matahari. Variasi matahari dipengaruhi siklus matahari 11-tahunan (siklus bintik merah) selain fluktuasi-fluktuasi lainnya yang tidak periodik
Ada dugaan bahwa adanya variasi matahari disebabkan oleh umpan balik dari awan telah memberi andil dalam pemanasan saat ini. Penyebab pemanasan global karena variasi matahari dengan pemanasan akibat efek rumah kaca adalah pada variasi matahari terjadi peningkatan aktivitas matahari.
Aktivitas tersebut mampu menaikkan suhu stratosfer sebaliknya efek rumah kaca akan menurunkan suhu stratosfer. Semenjak tahun 1960, pendinginan stratosfer ini sebenarnya sudah teramati. Peristiwa ini sepertinya tidak mungkin terjadi jika penyumbangnya adalah aktivitas matahari,
Penipisan lapisan ozon juga memberikan kontribusi dalam pendinginan. Kombinasi Fenomena variasi Matahari dengan aktivitas gunung berapi sepertinya telah memberikan efek pemanasan dari masa pra-industri hingga tahun 1950, serta efek pendinginan sejak tahun 1950.
Diperkirakan bahwa matahari mungkin telah memberikan pengaruh terhadap 45-50% peningkatan suhu rata-rata global selama periode 1900-2000, dan sekitar 25-35% antara tahun 1980 dan 2000. Para ilmuwan menyimpulkan bahwa walaupun ada peningkatan sensitivitas iklim terhadap pengaruh matahari.
Namun sebagian besar pemanasan yang terjadi pada dekade-dekade terakhir ini fix disebabkan oleh gas-gas rumah kaca. Beberapa ilmuwan berpendapat Siklus Matahari hanya memberi peningkatan kecil sekitar 0,07% dalam tingkat terang yang dihasilkannya selama 30 tahun terakhir.
Dengan angka sekecil ini sepertinya Efek ini terlalu kecil untuk menyumbang terhadap pemanasan global. Bahkan Sebuah penelitian oleh Lockwood dan Fröhlich menemukan bahwa tidak ada pemanasan global dengan variasi matahari sejak tahun 1985 sebenarnya tak ada hubungan sama sekali , baik melalui variasi dari output matahari maupun variasi dalam sinar kosmis.
Seperti yang sudah kita ketahui sekarang bahwa terdapat berbagai proses yang membuat terjadinya pemanasan global yang dapat berdampak pada kehidupan makhluk hidup di bumi. Hal ini juga dipaparkan pada buku Pemanasan Global – Solusi dan Peluang Bisnis.
C. Cara Mengukur Pemanasan Global
Bagaimana kita tahu ukuran pemanasan global yang sekarang kita alami, apakah masih biasa saja, sedang atau sudah mengkhawatirkan? Tahun 1896, sebenarnya para ilmuwan mencurigai pembakaran bahan bakar fosil akan mengubah komposisi atmosfer dan bisa mengakibatkan pemanasan global.
Tahun 1957 ketika para peneliti yang bekerja pada program penelitian global yaitu International Geophysical Year kemudian mengambil sampel atmosfer dari puncak gunung Mauna Loa di Hawai untuk membuktikan hipotesis mereka.
Hasilnya Ternyata kadar CO2 meningkat konsentrasinya di atmosfer dan menyebabkan pemanasan global. Sebenarnya para ilmuwan juga sudah menduga kalau iklim bumi semakin menghangat namun saat itu mereka belum punya cukup bukti untuk memperkuat dugaannya. Mereka tak mau dianggap “halu”
Perlu bertahun-tahun untuk melakukan pengamatan iklim. Tidak hanya sehari dua hari
Di akhir tahun 1980an barulah mereka berhasil mencatat data statistik yang menunjukkan bumi menghangat namun itupun mereka merasa masih kurang meyakinkan.
Di daerah-daerah dekat perkotaan kemudian didirikan stasiun cuaca. Letak stasiun cuaca di perkotaan dengan tujuan banyak mendapatkan data dari panas yang dihasilkan dari aktivitas kendaraan dan bangunan. Data yang terkumpul ternyata lebih akurat.
Hasil tersbeut cocok dengan hipotesis mereka selama ini, menghangatnya bumi memang bukan sekedar isapan jempol belaka. Akhir abad ke-20, tercatat bahwa sepuluh tahun terhangat selama seratus tahun terakhir terjadi setelah tahun 1980, dan tiga tahun terpanas terjadi setelah tahun 1990, dengan 1998 menjadi tahun yang paling panas.
Pada tahun 2001, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) membuat kesimpulan yang menyatakan bahwa suhu udara global telah meningkat 0,6 derajat Celcius (1 derajat Fahrenheit) sejak 1861. Mereka setuju bahwa pemanasan tersebut terutama diakibatkan oleh aktivitas manusia yang menyumbang gas-gas rumah kaca ke atmosfer.
IPCC bahkan memprediksi peningkatan suhu rata-rata global akan meningkat 1.1 hingga 6.4 °C (2.0 hingga 11.5 °F) antara tahun 1990 dan 2100. Apabila gas rumah kaca yang teremisi terus meningkat, para ahli memperkirakan, konsentrasi karbon dioksida di atmosfer dapat melonjak.
Bahkan hingga tiga kali lipat pada awal abad ke-22 bila dibandingkan masa sebelum era industri. Apa Akibatnya? Ya tentu saja akan terjadi akan terjadi perubahan iklim secara dramatis, miris bikin histeris! Meskipun memang peristiwa perubahan iklim ini telah sepanjang sejarah Bumi terjadi beberapa kali dari zaman dinosaurus hidup mungkin.
Namun kali ini manusia akan menghadapi masalah ini dengan risiko populasi yang jauh lebih besar. Secara jumlah penduduk di muka bumi ini semakin lama semakin membludak.
D. Model iklim
Untuk memperkuat hipotesis mereka tentang Pemanasan global, sebenarnya Para ilmuwan telah membuat model-model komputer berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip dasar dinamika fluida, transfer radiasi, dan proses-proses lainya. Model iklim itu yang setiap tahun mengalami perbaikan seiring kecanggihan teknologi.
Hasilnya terlihat bahwa penambahan gas-gas rumah kaca berefek pada iklim yang lebih hangat. Meskipun digunakan asumsi-asumsi yang sama terhadap konsentrasi gas rumah kaca pada masa depan, namun sensitivitas iklimnya masih akan berada pada suatu rentang tertentu.
Model-model iklim yang sudah diformulasikan juga dipakai untuk menemukan penyebab-penyebab perubahan iklim yang terjadi saat ini. Caranya adalah dengan membandingkan perubahan yang telah diamati dengan hasil prediksi model terhadap berbagai penyebab, apakah itu alami maupun aktivitas manusia.
Saat ini model iklim yang ada ternyata sudah mirip dengan perubahan suhu global hasil pengamatan selama seratus tahun terakhir, tetapi tidak menstimulasi semua aspek dari iklim. Memang model-model ini tidak secara langsung menyatakan bahwa pemanasan yang ada antara tahun 1910 hingga 1945 disebabkan oleh proses alami atau aktivitas manusia sih, namun hasilnya memperlihatkan bahwa pemanasan sejak tahun 1975 dimonopoli oleh emisi gas-gas yang ada dalam aktivitas harian manusia.
E. Dampak Pemanasan global
Apakah dampak pemanasan global sebenarnya? Sudahkah kamu mulai merasakan? Sudah sepanik apa? atau biasa saja karena menganggap wajar?
1. Iklim Tidak Stabil
Dampak-dampak pemanasan global diantaranya adalah Iklim mulai tidak stabil. Eits, cek dulu pada tahu ga nih apa itu iklim? Apa bedanya iklim dengan cuaca? Iklim adalah situasi rata-rata cuaca yang meliputi daerah yang luas dengan waktu yang lama. Sementara cuaca Cuaca adalah keadaan udara pada suatu saat di daerah yang relatif sempit.
Faktor -faktor yang mempengaruhi iklim dan cuaca adalah sama sinar matahari, suhu, tekanan udara,kelembaban udara ,angin, awan dan curah hujan. Dahulu tahun 1980 atau 1990-an , iklim begitu mudah diperkirakan. Biasanya bulan Oktober sampai maret, musim hujan akan terjadi tapi kini seringkali meleset, sadar ga sih?
Di beberapa daerah kekeringan melanda hebat karena kemarau. Adanya pemanasan global menyebabkan bagian Utara dari belahan Bumi utara (Northern Hemisphere) akan memanas lebih dari daerah-daerah lain di Bumi. Akibatnya gunung-gunung es kini mulai mencair sehingga daratan akan menyempit. Tak banyak lagi jumpal es yang mengapung.
Daerah-daerah yang dulu mengalami salju ringan kini tak mengalaminya lagi. Di pegunungan di daerah subtropis, bagian yang tertutup salju akan semakin sedikit serta akan lebih cepat mencair. Musim tanam akan lebih lama di beberapa area. Suhu pada musim dingin dan malam hari akan cenderung untuk bertambah.
Daerah yang hangat akan menjadi lebih lembap karena lebih banyak air yang menjadi uap dan lepas dari lautan. Curah hujan di seluruh dunia telah naik sebesar 1 persen dalam seratus tahun terakhir ini . Badai akan ternyata lebih sering melanda. Selain itu, air akan lebih cepat lepas jadi uap dari tanah.Akibatnya beberapa daerah akan menjadi lebih kering dari sebelumnya.
Angin akan bertiup lebih kencang dan memiliki pola yang berbeda dengan sebelumnya. Topan badai (hurricane) yang mendapat kekuatannya dari penguapan air, akan menjadi lebih dahsyat. Pola cuaca menjadi sulit terprediksi dan lebih ekstrem.
2. Meningkatnya permukaan air laut
Cairnya es di daerah kutub telah menyebabkan volume air laut akan bertambah ,akibatnya akan terjadi peningkatan permukaan air laut. Tinggi muka laut di seluruh dunia telah meningkat 10 – 25 cm (4 – 10 inchi) selama abad ke-20, dan para ilmuwan IPCC memprediksi peningkatan lebih lanjut 9 – 88 cm (4 – 35 inci) pada abad ke-21 wow!
Apa yang terjadi jika air laut naik? Tentu saja daerah seputaran pantai akan terendam. Seperti negara Belanda yang kehilangan 17,6 % daerahnya karena tenggelam oleh naiknya 100 cm permukaan laut. Erosi dari tebing, pantai, dan bukit pasir akan mengalami peningkatan. Ketika tinggi lautan mencapai muara sungai, banjir akibat air pasang tak bisa dihindari lagi.
3. Suhu global cenderung meningkat
Jika kita membayangkan bahwa,dengan panasnya bumi, maka akan banyak makanan yang dihasilkan,maka bayangan itu keliru. Mungkin di suatu daerah akan menguntungkan karena mengalami musim hujan jadi lebih lama,tapi daerah di belahan bumi lain sebaliknya mengalami musim panas berkepanjangan.
Jika salju di daerah gurun sampai turun, pertanian gurun yang menggunakan air irigasi dari gunung-gunung yang jauh dapat menderita jika snowpack (kumpulan salju) yang dihasilkan musim dingin, yang selama ini berfungsi sebagai reservoir alami, akan mencair sebelum puncak bulan-bulan masa tanam. Belum lagi tanaman pangan dan hutan dapat mengalami serangan serangga dan penyakit yang lebih hebat.
4. Gangguan ekologis
Ketika suhu bumi memanas, kita saja sebagai manusia tak nyaman, begitupun makhluk hidup yang lain. Efek pemanasan mengganggu kehidupan. Hewan-hewan akan bermigrasi mencari tempat sejuk, tumbuhan mengubah arah pertumbuhannya mencari tempat yang mendukung pertumbuhannya
Manusia yang dikaruniai akal mungkin akan melakukan hal yang meminimalisir panas yang muncul, namun makhluk lain tentu tidak. Hewan dan tanaman bisa jadi berakhir dengan kepunahan karena tak mampu beradaptasi.
5. Dampak sosial dan politik
Kondisi cuaca yang tak menentu menyebabkan munculnya berbagai penyakit. Bagi para petani kondisi hujan yang tak kunjung usai bisa menggagalkan panen, sementara jika panas berkepanjangan juga menyulitkan mereka untuk memulai pertanian karena susahnya pasokan air.
Panas juga menyebabkan hutan mudah mengalami kebakaran. Banyak titik api yang berpotensi terbakar. Hutan di Indonesia sudah sering terbakar. Masalah kebakaran hutan sempat pelik dan sulit dicari solusinya.

F. Akibat pemanasan global di Indonesia
Bagaimana kabar Indonesia, sejauh mana pemanasan global akan memberikan dampak pada negeri ini? Pada tahun 2030 menurut Badan Klimatologi Meteorologi dan Geofisika akan terjadi peningkatan suhu sebesar 0,5 derajat celcius. 2030 itu tinggal 9 tahun lagi gaesss!
Selain kenaikan suhu udara, kasus kekeringan juga akan meningkat di Pulau Sumatera bagian selatan, sebagian besar Pulau Jawa, Madura, Bali, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), hingga Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) pada 2030. Sementara musim hujan, lebat hingga ekstrim juga cenderung bertambah hingga 40 persen dibandingkan saat ini.
Meskipun hujan sebenarnya hanya tetesan air semata, namun bagi mereka yang baper hujan adalah tetesan rindu. Hujan terus menerus selain menimbulkan genangan, yang juga dapat menimbulkan bencana banjir di berbagai daerah. Hal lain yang terjadi karena pemanasan global adalah menurunnya kadar oksigen di daerah khatulistiwa, termasuk Indonesia. Dampaknya lebih parah, dibanding kawasan negara empat musim. Selama ini di dalam lautan ada perbedaan diklasifikasikan berdasarkan kedalamannya, laut membuat stratifikasinya sendiri.
Proses stratifikasi ini membuat oksigen banyak terkonsentrasi di bagian atas sehingga menghasilkan banyak biomassa berupa ikan dan ganggang. Akibatnya rantai makanan dan biota laut yang membutuhkan oksigen jelas malah terganggu. Terdapat perbedaan jumlah yang tidak merata.
Suhu panas ini juga melakukan penyerapan oksigen di permukaan. Nah, Perubahan ini malah mengganggu rantai makanan yang selama ini sudah terbentuk. Rantai makanan di mana kehidupan manusia basisnya adalah rantai makanan. Jika rantai makanan terganggu kacaulah proses kehidupan.
Pemanasan global juga akan berdampak pada naiknya suhu sehingga bila ini terjadi maka yang ditakutkan adalah kurang konsistennya produktivitas biomassa akibat kenaikan suhu. Kondisi yang ditakutkan adalah para petani seharusnya panen jadi tidak panen.
Pendapatan yang seharusnya segera mereka genggam lepas begitu saja karena gagal panen. Yang kuat jadi lemah, maka rantai makanan akan semakin timpang. G. Cara Mengantisipasi Pemanasan Global
Berikut adalah beberapa langkah yang bisa dilakukan untuk turut serta dalam meminimalisir dampak pemanasan global :
- Konservasi lingkungan seperti melakukan reboisasi, penenaman pohon dan penghijauan lahan kritis.
- Menggunakan energi yang bersumber dari energi alternatif (Energi air, matahari, angin, bioenergy) guna mengurangi penggunaan energi bahan bakar fosil (minyak bumi dan batu bara).
- Daur ulang dan efisiensi energi.
- Upaya pendidikan kepada masyarakat luas dengan memberikan pemahaman dan penerapan untuk mencegah terjadinya pemanasan global.
